South Western Sydney Clinical School

Non-UNSW Clerkships

The South Western Sydney Clinical School, UNSW Australia offers Clerkships (electives) through our clinical teaching sites at Liverpool, Bankstown-Lidcombe and Fairfield Hospitals to non-UNSW medical students. The duration of the Clerkship is between 4 weeks (minimum) to 8 weeks (maximum).

Clinical Skills

To be eligible for a Clerkship the applicant should:

  • Be in their final year of a medical degree, with at least 2 years of clinical experience at the time of their participation in the Clerkship
  • Apply at least one year in advance of their requested Clerkship dates
  • Be proficient in both written and spoken English
     

You are ineligible for a Clerkship if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are seeking additional clinical experience outside of the elective requirements of your university medical program
  • You are already a Doctor and have already completed your medical degree (we do not offer internship/residency programs)
     

Please note:

  • Applications for Clerkships (Electives) must be made through the Clerkship Coordinator at the Office of the Dean, UNSW Medicine directly, not to individual hospitals or clinicians
